INTRODUCTION:
The Hajj Complex (Madina-tul-Hujjaj), Islamabad is situated in Sector I-14, Islamabad and is in consonance with the Master Plan of Islamabad.
To extend maximum door to door facilities to the intending pilgrims belonging to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Punjab, Azad Jamu Kashmir, Northern Areas and FATA, the Hajj Complex (Madina-tul-Hujjaj) was constructed and made operational for direct Hajj flights from Islamabad during Hajj-1986 in addition to Haji Camp, Karachi. The construction was started linking with grand trunk road at Golra Crossing during October 1985 and the project completed within a short span of nine months, i.e. July 1986 where all facilities like accommodation, canteens, Administration Block of Hajj Directorate, airline offices, banks, training halls, post office, etc. for intending pilgrims are made available. Due to the opening of other gate-ways in all provincial headquarters, Riphah International University and Pakistan Madrassah Education Board have established its main Campus in the spare buildings of Hajj Complex for its best utilization.
