Interfaith Harmony Activities / Public Awareness

In addition to IH Conferences and Seminars, the Ministry celebrates important religious festivals of minority communities at the official level. These include Christmas and Easter for Christians, Holi and Diwali for Hindus, Baisakhi and the Birthday of Guru Nanak for Sikhs, Nauroze for Zoroastrians, Eid-e-Ridvan for Baha’i’s, Festival of Lights for the Buddhist community, and Chelum Jusht for the Kalash people.

Celebrations of these events have brought all segments of society closer for peaceful co-existence. Details of these celebrations since 2015 are as under:

  • Holi-2015, of Hindu community was celebrated at official level on 12th March, 2015 at PNCA, Islamabad.
  • Easter-2015, of Christian community was celebrated at official level on 7th April, 2015 at PNCA, Islamabad.
  • Eid-e-Ridvan-2015, of Bahai’s community was celebrated at official level on 24th April, 2015 at PNCA, Islamabad.
  • Minorities Day-2015, was celebrated at official level on 11th August, 2015 at Aiwan-e-Sadr, Islamabad.
  • Nauroze-2015, of Parsi community was planned on 23rd August, 2015 at Karachi, but postponed.
  • Dewali-2015, of Hindu community was celebrated on 12th November, 2015 in Karachi.
  • Christmas-2015, of Christian community was celebrated on 21st December, 2015 at Aiwan-e-Sadr, Islamabad.
  • Eid-e-Ridvan-2016, of Bahai’s community was celebrated at official level on 29th April, 2016 at PNCA, Islamabad.
  • Dewali-2016, of Hindu community was celebrated on 29th November, 2016 at PNCA, Islamabad.
  • Christmas-2016, of Christian community was celebrated at official level on 23rd December, 2016 at Aiwan-e-Sadr, Islamabad.
  • Holi-2017, of Hindu community was celebrated at official level on 24th March, 2017 at PNCA, Islamabad.
  • Easter-2017, of Christian community was celebrated at official level on 18th April, 2017 at PNCA, Islamabad.
  • Eid-e-Ridvan-2017, of Bahai’s community was celebrated at official level on 28th April, 2017 at PNCA, Islamabad.
  • Minorities Day-2017, was celebrated at official level on 11th August, 2017 at Aiwan-e-Sadr, Islamabad.
  • Chelum Jusht-2017, of Kalash community was celebrated on 19th August, 2017 at Bamborette, Kalash Valley, Chitral.
  • Dewali-2017, of Hindu community was celebrated on 24th October, 2017 at PNCA, Islamabad.
  • Christmas-2017, celebration & laptop/school bag distribution for minority students was arranged on 15th December, 2017 at Quetta.
  • Christmas-2017, of Christian community was celebrated at official level on 20th December, 2017 at Aiwan-e-Sadr, Islamabad.
  • Masihi Idol Gospel Prayer Competition was held on 18th December, 2017 at PNCA, Islamabad.
  • Holi-2018, of Hindu community was celebrated at official level on 28th February, 2018 at PNCA, Islamabad.
  • Easter-2018, of Christian community was celebrated at official level on 2nd April, 2018 at PNCA, Islamabad.
  • Eid-e-Ridvan-2018, of Bahai’s community was celebrated at official level on 2nd May, 2018 at PNCA, Islamabad.
  • Chelum Jusht-2018, of Kalash community was celebrated on 12th May, 2018 at Bamborette, Kalash Valley, Chitral.
  • Dewali-2018, of Hindu community was celebrated on 8th November, 2018 at PNCA, Islamabad.
  • Christmas-2018, of Christian community was celebrated on 21st December, 2018 at Aiwan-e-Sadr, Islamabad.
  • Holi-2019, of Hindu community was celebrated on 26th March, 2019 at PNCA, Islamabad.
  • Eid-e-Ridvan-2019, of Bahai’s community was celebrated on 26th April, 2019 at PNCA, Islamabad.
  • Easter-2019, of Christian community was celebrated on 29th April, 2019 at PNCA, Islamabad.
  • Chelum Jusht-2019, of Kalash community was celebrated on 1st May, 2019 at Bamborette Valley, Chitral.
  • Minority Day-2019, was celebrated on 29th July, 2019 at Aiwan-e-Sadr, Islamabad.
  • Dewali-2019, of Hindu community was celebrated on 25th October, 2019 at PNCA, Islamabad.
  • Christmas-2019, of Christian community was celebrated on 23rd December, 2019 at Aiwan-e-Sadr, Islamabad.
  • Minority Day-2020, was celebrated in a limited way due to COVID-19, with a cake cutting on 11th August, 2020 at Aiwan-e-Sadr, Islamabad.
  • Dewali-2020, of Hindu community was celebrated on 21st November, 2020 at National Sailing Center, Karachi.
  • Christmas-2020, of Christian community was celebrated on 23rd December, 2020 at Aiwan-e-Sadr, Islamabad.
  • Minority Day-2021, was celebrated on 25th August, 2021 (as 11th August fell in Ashura) at Aiwan-e-Sadr, Islamabad.
  • Christmas-2021, of Christian community was celebrated on 21st December, 2021 at Aiwan-e-Sadr, Islamabad.
  • Dewali-2021, of Hindu community was celebrated on 25th October, 2021 at Karachi.
  • Holi-2022, of Hindu community was celebrated on 18th March, 2022 at Sukkur.
  • Chelum Jusht-2022, of Kalash community was celebrated on 17th May, 2022 at Birir Valley, Chitral.
  • Eid-e-Ridvan-2022, of Bahai’s community was celebrated on 19th May, 2022 at National Library, Islamabad.
  • Minority Day-2022, was celebrated on 11th August, 2022 at Islamabad.
  • Dewali-2022, of Hindu community was celebrated on 22nd October, 2022 at National Sailing Club, Karachi.
  • Christmas-2022, of Christian community was celebrated on 22nd December, 2022 at Prime Minister’s House, Islamabad.
